The comparison of the management of domestic wastes treatment in the main EEC countries highlights the differences between the various national situations and the existence of a two-speed Europe, with the Netherlands and Germany clearly ahead. If the normalization efforts and the obligations incurred by the European regulations can only favour the management harmonization, the way ahead is still long.
