English. As atrazine, the most widely used herbicide in agriculture, makes problems for water supply, the Cemagref study its transfer from lands to surface water. On a small basin of central Brittany, soil and water contents of atrazine have been monitored for two years. Data show that atrazine content of the top layer of soil decreases slowly after spreading. Degradation works more than leaching for this decrease. There is always atrazine in the water of the stream at the outlet of the basin. The concentration of atrazine increase sharply in every flood and then decrease slowly. It means that quick superficial flow of water is the most contaminated. It brings most of the total flow of atrazine which can be measured in the stream. However, this flow represent only a very small part of the spread atrazine on the basin : less than 1 %.

Comme l'atrazine, le pesticide le plus utilisé, cause des problèmes pour l'alimentation en eau potable, le Cemagref étudie son transfert des terres vers les eaux de surface Sur un petit bassin de Bretagne centrale les concentrations en atrazine ont été mesurées dans les sols et les eaux pendant deux ans. Les données montrent que les concentrations en atrazine dans la couche superficielle du sol décroissent lentement après les épandages. La dégradation contribue plus que la lixiviation à cette décroissance. Il y a toujours de l'atrazine dans l'eau du ruisseau à l'exutoire du bassin. La concentration en atrazine de l'eau croît brutalement à chaque crue et décroît ensuite lentement. Cela signifie que les eaux qui circulent rapidement dans les écoulements superficiels sont les plus chargées en atrazine. Elles apportent l'essentiel du flux qui transite dans le ruisseau. Cependant ce flux ne représente qu'une très petite part de l'atrazine épandue : moins de 1 %.
