Pythium splendens Braun was isolated from diseased "Sawi" plants, showing symptoms of post-emergence damping-off. It was a fast growing fungus which produced sexual and asexual reproductive structures on corn meal agar. The average diameters of the oospore and sporangium were 23.1 and 25.77/lm, respectively. Pathogenicity studies showed all three Brassica spp. tested were succeptible to the isolate, giving 40-55% of disease incidence. "Sawi bunga" was the most succeptible to P. splendens with the highest disease incidence of 55%.
