Solar dryers application possibilities for the drying of nuts

In this paper, the review of basic active solar energy techniques used for grain drying applications is presented. Considering the fact that these drying solutions use a low-temperature regime, the implementation of solar drying principle may result in satisfactory quality of dried products, while obtaining a positive impact on the environment and certain energy savings on the other side. Solar dryers are especially suitable for drying of nuts, because of their poor resistance to high temperatures, among the many other reasons. A proposal of the approach of estimating the solar potential for particular cases is given as well.
