The objective of this research was to study the situation related to growing and ratooning of sugarcane production. The studied sample was sugarcane farmers in Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, and Ratchaburi province. Data were collected using interview schedule. The results showed that most farmers had large area and high experience for sugarcane production. The farmers generally grew many sugarcane cultivars but almost every farmer also grew KK 3 cultivar. LK92-11 and U Thong cultivars were referred to as multiple ratooning. Most farmers grew sugarcane with 3-4 ratoons. However, number of ratoons in sugarcane production cycles was the same or decreased. Causes of farmers? decision making for replanting were poor cane yield in ratoon due to the decline in soil fertility, a lot of dead stubble or poor tillering and needs of farmers for changing to new sugarcane cultivar
