By the virtue of its geographics the vicinity of Hakkari has a various climate, topographical features and a remarkable genetic variety of plants. Therefore this research has been done to evaluate the habit of usage the medical and useful plants' in the vicinity of Hakkari and to determinate folksy knowledge. We have carried out a poll to discover the herbs which are used by the local people from past to present both for medical and food purpose, and learn the positive and negative effects of these herbs via face to face interviews. In addition to this; lots of knowledge has been discovered by herb survey trips made with traditional healers. In this research it has been discovered that nearly fifty-three kinds of herbs have been using since ancient ages by the natives. At the end of the research it has been concluded on a point that to protect the genetic variation of the regional flora is required and the necessity of the required breeding and the improvement of the conservation methods has emphasized.
