Informe Campaña Platuxa 2016

Este informe presenta los resultados de la campaña Platuxa 2016, llevada a cabo en el Área de Regulación de NAFO 3NO en las fechas 23-05 a 20-06 de 2016 a bordo del BO Vizconde de Eza. Se ha observado un descenso significativo de la mayoría de las especies objetivo, con excepción del tollo, que se mantiene a niveles como los de 2015 y superiores a la media del periodo 2002-2015, la limanda, que aumenta ligeramente respecto a 2015 pero está bajo la media; el mendo aumenta respecto a 2015 y se mantiene en la media y la bertorella aumenta respecto a 2015 y la media. Se capturó un total de casi 61 t de pescado, menos de la mitad que en años anteriores. De éstas el 37% fue gallineta y el 18% limanda. El resto de las especies se encontraron en porcentajes inferiores al 10%. Se midieron 39940 peces, se sexaron 24227 individuos, se muestrearon 2113 estómagos de 22 especies (16 % de bacalao, 16 % de fletán negro y 11 % de platija), y se extrajeron 319 pares de otolitos de fletán, 258 pares de otolitos de platija , 605 pares de otolitos de bacalao, 116 gónadas de platija y 313 gónadas de bacalao.Durante toda la campaña se mantuvo un blog diario y bilingüe (español-inglés), accesible en http://platuxa.blogspot.com.es/ y que se ha acercado a las 10000 entradas durante el mes de junio.

This report shows the results of the 3LNO Groundfish survey (first part), carried out in NAFO RA 3NO from the 23rd of May to the 20th of June 2016 on board RV Vizconde de Eza.A severe catch decrease was registered for most target species, except for black dogfish, whose catches were similar to those in 2015 and above the average for 2002-2015, yellowtail flounder, with a small increase respect to 2015 but lower than on average, witch flounder, which increased since 2015 and it is at average levels, and white hake, which increased respect to 2015 and its average.The total fish catch was nearly 61 t, less than half than in former years. Redfish and yellowtail flounder made up 37% and 18% of the total, respectively. The remaining species were found in percentages <10%. A total of 39940 fish were length measured, 24227 individuals were sexed, 2113 stomachs from 22 species were analysed (16% from cod, 16% from Greenland halibut and 11% from American plaice). In addition, otoliths were collected from Greenland halibut (319), American plaice (258) and cod (605), as well as cod and American plaice gonads (313 and 116, respectively).A daily bilingual blog (Spanish- English) was kept for the duration of the survey, available in http://platuxa.blogspot.com.es/ , with nearly 10000 accesses during June.
