Forest is one of the most powerful living organisms among natural resources. Its socio-ecological, general environmental protection features are especially important. Diverse forest phenomena have different functional purposes. Forest resources play a multifunctional role in the economy. They serve not only for the production of material good (benefit), but also perform many useful natural functions, such as: nature protection, sanitary-hygienic, socio-ecological, sanitary, environmental, etc., which contribute to the protection of human health. Georgian forest ecosystems have a special place on the Eurasian continent in terms of biodiversity and endemic species. In addition, the biodiversity of Georgia's unique forest ecosystems creates conditions for ecotourism and spa environment in various therapeutic directions, which is very important for Georgia.
