Reasons of the drying of pine in Tbilisi and its surroundings.

The reasons for the drying of pines in Tbilisi and its surroundings are presented. Global warming and severe climate change have led to the premature weakening of pines, the spread of pests and diseases, when artificially planted pine crops failed to reach their designated age (100 years), almost 30 years earlier’ all this lead to the dryingpf pines in Tbilisi and its surroundings. A list of primary and secondary pests that accelerate the drying of pines as well as control measures are given. Primary pests of pine include: Tomicus (Blastophagus) piniperda L., Tomicus (Blastophagus) minor Hart., Ips acuminatus Gyll., Dioryctria splendidella H.-S. Secondary Pests of Pine are: Acanthocinus griseus F., Monochamus galloprovincialis Ol., Phaenops cineae Fabr., Sirex argonautarum Sem., etc. Tab. 2, Fig. 2, Ref. 13.
