Post infectional changes in the protein content of Citrus aurantifolia var. ‘Round’ in the presence of bacterium Xanthomonas citri sub sp. citri

The present research work designed to find out the variation in protein content in the different components of fruit tissues of Citrus aurantifolia var. ‘Round’. Changes in protein content were investigated in healthy, freshly inoculated fruits and diseased fruits for a period of 2 h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, and 120 h each. In healthy fruit protein content in 2 h is 0.36 ± 0.331, 48 h is 10.65 ± 1.7397 and in 120 h is 0.807 ± 0.0008. In inoculated fruits protein content varies from 0.574 ± 0.004 in 2 h, 9.4 ± 0.5621 in 48 h, and 1.183 ± 0.0002 in 120 h. In diseased fruit the amount of protein content is 0.727 ± 0.045 in 2 h, 14.9 ± 1.4771 in 48 h, and 1.098 ± 0.0002 in 120 h. Change in the amount of protein (in mg/g) in the juice of healthy, inoculated and diseased fruits. In healthy fruit, protein content is 0.57 ± 0.0501 in 2 h, 4.41 ± 0.1502 in 48 h, and in 0.973 ± 0.0001 in 120 h. In inoculated fruits, the protein content change in 2 h is 0.6809 ± 0.0001, 48 h is 4.62 ± 0.0611, and in 120 h is 0.760 ± 0.0001. In diseased fruit it is 0.902 ± 0.092 in 2 h, 12.65 ± 0.6589 in 48 h and 0.945 ± 0.1305 in 120 h. Change in the amount of protein (mg/g) in the rag and pulp of healthy, inoculated and diseased fruits. In the healthy fruits protein in 2 h is 0.789 ± 0.0832, 48 h is 10.625 ± 0.1946, and 120 h is 0.985 ± 0.0001. In inoculated fruits, the amount of protein is 0.8006 ± 0.0001 in 2 h, 6.8 ± 0.6293 in 48 h, and 1.0 ± 0 in 120 h. In the diseased fruit the amount of protein content is 0.91 ± 0.188 in 2 h, 14.1 ± 0.1796 in 48 h, and 0.99 ± 0.0121 in 120 h. The changes in protein content are different than during later hours of pathogenesis. In the extracts of different components of fruit variability was also found for protein contents.
