Cotton Bollworm - Helicoverpa armigera Hbn. is polyphagous pest and migrant species. The moths have the body length 1, 5 – 1, 7 cm and variable colour. Femel are orang-broun, and males have ligherbroun coloration. Imago life spans 20 - 40 days. Eggs are laid one by one or 2 - 3 on the organs of plants. The eggs development lasts 2 - 4 days in the summer and 4 - 12 days in the spring and autumn. The larva develop lasts 13 - 15 days, reaching 3 – 4 cm, and have greenich coloration. The larva feeds on generative and reproductive organs of plants. The larvae populate injure more then 250 plant species. Pupae develops over 14 - 15 days in soil at depth 5,0 – 10,0 cm, has body length 1,6 cm and the broun coloration. At the leguminous crops develops 2 - 3 generations of insects. Pupae the winter in soil pods.
