The purpose of this study is to analyze the date from the specialized literature relating to the quality assurance of wood briquettes for nonindustrial use. The article presents the policies for the development of biomass energy sources, highlighting the socio-economic and environmental effect in rural areas. Also, from scientific literature were select the criteria for quality assessment of the densified biofuels and the factors that can influence it. Based on the analyzed data, have been set the objectives for more in-depth research into ways to improve the quality of bio briquettes that are produced from indigenous raw material, as well as the formulation of the necessary assumptions for experimental research confirmation.
