Road safety can be defined as the space of the states of the elements and systems that characterize at a certain moment a particular point on a road. The main factors that should be considered in the production of any road event are the quality of the design, construction and maintenance of the state of the running tracks, the technical condition of the vehicles, the training and qualification of the drivers, the weather conditions, the clarity, the coherence and the efficiency of the traffic regulations, infrastructure development, the specificity of road traffic. A roadway system is designed, developed and maintained in order to ensure the transport of people and material goods under conditions of efficiency and safety. The efficiency of the system can be easily appreciated as the ratio between the volume of goods carried and costs. For the road safety assessment on a selected road sector it is proposed to use the concept of roadway system reliability. This work presents a way to develop a procedure for the study of the reliability of a roadway segment.
