The work is devoted to the development of a universal and effective method of coating with the required functional properties - electrospark alloying -to expand the field of application in engineering and repair production. The results of experimental work are presented, which show the possibility of forming electrospark thick-layer coatings of increased continuity (ES TLC) without using other processing methods. The basis of the technology for applying such coatings is a technological technique that involves alternating two operations: 1) applying the main electrode material to the model sample (part), which creates a coating layer with the required properties, and 2) melting this coating to increase the reference surface and thereby ensuring favorable conditions for the performance of the following "application-reflow" treatment cycles; the required thickness of the ES TLC is achieved by the required number of processing cycles. Examples are given of the use of ES TLC, which can be used both for repair purposes to eliminate local defects, restore the size of worn surfaces, and for special-purpose parts with the required functional properties; this includes multilayer coatings.
