German. Denne oppgaven er en undersøkelse av hagearkitektene Torborg Zimmer ogElse Collet. Zimmer og Collet ble utdannet fra linjen for hagekunst vedNorges Landbrugshøgskole på Ås i 1934 som to av de første kvinneligelandskapsarkitektstudentene i Norge. Både Zimmer og Collet var praktikanter iden danske landskapsarkitekten C. Th. Sørensens tegnestue etter utdannelsen.Senere samarbeidet de begge med etablerte mannlige arkitekter. TorborgZimmer samarbeidet med arkitekt Kåre Frölich og Else Collet fortsattesamarbeidet med C. Th. Sørensen. Oppgaven bruker arkivstudier som metodefor å finne spor etter de to kvinnenes virke som hagearkitekter og deresselvstendig bidrag til hagekunsten. Hensikten er å undersøke hvilkebegrensinger og mulighetsrom som fantes for kvinner i disiplinen i førstehalvdel av 1900-tallet.

English. This master thesis investigates the landscape architects Torborg Zimmer and Else Collet. Zimmer and Collet wrote their majors in garden art at the Norwegian College of Agriculture in Aas in 1934 as two of the first female students of landscape architecture in Norway. Upon graduation, both Zimmer and Collet were interns in the architectural firm of the Danish landscape architect C. Th. Sørensen. Later, they both collaborated with established, male architects. Torborg Zimmer collaborated with architect Kåre Frölich and Else Collet continued a collaboration with C. Th. Sørensen. This thesis examines files from archives to obtain information of the women’s work as landscape architects and their independent contribution to the art of landscape architecture. The purpose is to investigate the limitations and opportunities for women in the discipline in the first half of the 20th century.
