Paper presents the average annual values of Ni and Pb content in the Danube River for 2017, and human health risk assessment. The measurements were made on a part of the Danube River flow through Serbia, at 10 measuring stations that are part of the national surface water monitoring network. The results show elevated levels of both heavy metals related to the limit values. Despite the measured values, non-cancerous risk to human health has not been identified. The highest load due to the presence of nickel in large quantities was registered at the entry of the Danube River in Serbia.
