Borkovac reservoir is one of many created on southern slopes of Fruska Gora during seventies. Although they initially showed satisfactory water quality, with the piling up of nutrients, all reservoirs became eutrophic. Borkovac has had algae blooms many times in the past. During 2020, it was determined that the water quality is at a satisfactory level, as well as that there were no algae blooms on the lake in the summer period. Analyzes of ichthyofauna show that the composition of the fish settlement is satisfactory, but that a stronger population of predators would significantly contribute to the improvement of the composition of the fish fauna and water quality. Further research is needed to determine which of the external factors have improved water quality.
