The breeding and preservation of indigenous breeds of domestic animals in Northern Bačka has been traditionally encouraged for many years. In addition to autochthonous breeds of pigs, primarily Mangalitsa, autochthonous equides (Nonius and Balkan donkey), indigenous sheep breeds, like Vlashko-vitoroga sheep, the special importance of breeding has Podolian catle, which is extremely well adapted to the living conditions in the northern part of Bačka.
