Modern synthetic antibiotics lose their antimicrobial effectiveness as a result of the emergence of resistance inmicroorganisms. An alternative method of treatment may be the use of medicines based on extracts and essential oils ofvarious plants. The current study presents the results of research of the antimicrobial effect of alcoholic extracts of legumes. The ubiquity, relative cheapness and availability of raw materials from these plants are an important factor. Extracts of redclover and large-leaved lupine lupine flowers show high antimicrobial activity against ESKAPE pathogens. It is these extractsthat are recommended for further study to include them in antimicrobial preparations.
