SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROGNOSIS OF THE FAR NORTH REGIONS AND EQUIVALENT LOCALITIES

Russian. Today, the development of the Arctic is one of the priorities of both domestic and foreign policy of all Arctic states. Such interest in the Arctic territories is caused by the following factors: rich valuable reserves of natural resources, prospects for the development of transport and tourist routes. The extraction of natural gas, the production of non-ferrous metals and reindeer farming concentrated in the Arctic also should not be forgotten. The purpose of this article is to make a socio–economic prognosis based on the economic and social indicators of the regions of the Far North and equivalent localities. The paper presents various variants of prognosis and ways to solve the problem.
