Expediency of using new hybrid poplar clones of studied in Georgia for industrial and energy plantations.

For the first time, the question of the feasibility of using new hybrid poplar clones studied in the environmental conditions of Georgia for growing industrial and energy plantations is discussed based on the results of a five- year study. 11 promising forms for Georgia selected from 21 hybrid clones at the first stage of research were studied. Finally, the most promising forms were selected from the mentioned research clones, both for industrial and energy plantations, the results of which are presented in the article. 20 of the study clones were imported from Turkish Poplar and Fast-Growing Forest Species Research Institute, and one - AF8 - was supplied from Italy by Alasia Green Forest Company.
