Study of damaged and diseased woody plants in the National Botanical Garden of Georgia by means of impulse tomograph.

The paper deals with the examination of woody plants by means of an impulse tomograph. It is impossible to estimate vital processes in the wood visually, without a special equipment. In 2019, we investigated the following species of woody plants by means of an impulse tomograph: 1. Pitsunda pine (Pinus pithyusa); 2. Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum); 3. Lebanese cedar (Cedrus libani); 4. Himalayan/Deodar cedar (Cedrus deodara); 5. Coulter pine/big-cone pine (Pinus coulteri). The investigating plants were selected based on the following criteria: a large plant; few specimens in the garden collection; rare specimens having historical content; visually unhealthy. Based on the data received, relevant plant protection and other agro-technical measures were planned. Fig. 10, Ref. 8.
