Los objetivos del estudio fueron, analizar y evaluar la adopción de prácticas por los agricultores del Municipio de Waslala, Departamento de Matagalpa, Nicaragua en el manejo del hongo Moniliophtora roreri Cif & Par. en áreas cacaoteras, con el fin de promoverlas. Las variables evaluadas comprendían aspectos biofísicos, socioeconómico y de manejo del cultivo de cacao. Los instrumentos de evaluación de estas variables lo constituyeron las encuestas y observaciones de campo en cada una de las parcelas seleccionadas en la sub muestra, la que presentó un total de 20 productores de una muestra general de 60. Los resultados obtenidos no reflejan diferencias entre el número de prácticas adoptadas por los agricultores. El nivel de educación, los años de experiencia en el cultivo por parte del agricultor y su procedencia no limita la apropiación de conocimientos y su aplicación. La efectividad de las prácticas adoptadas por los agricultores están vinculadas a factores físicos. Las variables área cultivada de cacao, características de las copas del cacao, disponibilidad de agua y altura sobre el nivel del mar, ejercen influencia sobre la incidencia de la monilia. El sistema agroforestal cacao es una fuente de ingresos para los productores del Municipio de Waslala. The objectives of the study were, analyze and evaluate the adoption of practices for the agriculturists of the Municipality of Waslala, Department of Matagalpa, Nicaragua in the handling of the Moniliophtora roreri mushroom CIF & Par they Birth areas cacaoteras, with the end of promoting them. The evaluated variables understood looks biofisic, socioeconomic and of handling of the cultivation of cocoa. The instruments of evaluation of these variables constituted the surveys and observations of field in each one of the parcels selected in the sub show, the one which represented a total of 20 producers of a general pattern of 60. The gotten outputs don't reflect differences between the number of practices adopted by the agriculturists. The level of manners, the years of experience in the cultivation per party of the agriculturist and their source doesn't limit the appropriation of know-how and their application. The effectivity of the practices adopted by the agriculturists is tied to physical factors. The variables area cultivated of cocoa, characteristic of the glasses of the cocoa, readiness of water and height on the level of the sea, they exercise influence on the incidencia of the Monilia. The system agroforestry cocoa is a fountain of income for the producers of the Municipality of Waslala.
