Milk Production Function in Different Categories of Member and Non-member Families of Dairy Cooperatives in Semi-Arid Rajasthan

Department of Animal Husbandry& Dairying, Kisan(P.G) College, Simbhaoli CCS, University, Meerut-250004, India Study was conducted to find out the input-output relationship in the use of resource for milk production for different families of member and non-member of dairy cooperatives in Jaipur district of Rajasthan. Linear and Cobb-Douglas milk production functions were tried in present study. The linear was found best fit keeping in view significance of regression Co-efficient and value of R2.Results of multiple linear equation (MLE) on overall basis revealed that concentrate and green fodder was the main significant variable which affecting the milk production in member families. These inputs were underutilized and as increased use of these input milk production and return increased accordingly. Regression coefficient of concentrate in non-member families was positive and significant. It was also underutilized and milk production increased as use of it increased. Use of green fodder in non-member families was up to optimum level. Coefficient of dry fodder was negative in both the categories and it was either at its optimum level or exceeded its optimum level of utilization.
