Research and development of the vehicles in the Serbia from the recycling aspect

The paper discusses components of sustainable development, ecology, dismantling and recycling ofmotor vehicles. The components are related to: materials, engine fuels, working fluids, installation of hazardous materials, energy efficiency, waste in the process of production, use of sustainable technologies and design suitable for recycling. Also, elements of sustainability in the construction of motor vehicles, as well as certain legal environmental protection measures are being considered. In the Republic of Serbia, certain measures are taken in the direction of research and development to reduce the negative environmental impact of vehicles and the automobile industry. However, achieved results are still far from the desired level. There is space for improvement in the sphere of used materials, energy efficiency production of technologies and the application of sustainable technologies. These segments should have special attention because recycling of motor vehicles could have a significant impetus to the improvement of the sustainable development in the Serbia.
