THE PREVENTION OF RABIES IN THE TERRITORY OF ROSTOV OBLAST IN 2019-2021

Russian. In the modern world, the most effective way to prevent rabies is to immunize susceptible animals, including wild carnivores, with anti-rabies vaccines. The article presents an analysis of the effectiveness of anti-rabies measures in Rostov Oblast for the period from 2019 to 2021. During this period, 2346033 heads of agricultural and small domestic animals were vaccinated. On the territory of the region for immunization of wild carnivores, 6640581 doses of oral vaccine were distributed. During this period, 25 cases of rabies were registered in Rostov Oblast, which demonstrates the need for further oral immunization of wild animals.
