AN INFORMATIONAL AND ANALYTICAL REVIEW OF THE FISHERIES SIGNIFICANCE OF FRESHWATER RESERVOIRS IN THE YAMALO-NENETS AUTONOMOUS OKRUG

Russian. This work presents a review of data on the hydrobiological parameters and fishery characteristics of a number of typical water bodies in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. In spite of numerous publications of large scientific groups (for example, from the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences) on certain fishery issues of this region, all the authors note that the ichthyofauna of most water bodies remains poorly studied. This work gives a comprehensive review of information on the fish productivity of individual water bodies of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with a preliminary evaluation of their hydrographic and hydrobiological characteristics, natural and climatic conditions, as well as the biological diversity of ichthyofauna of the region as a whole. Such large freshwater bodies as the Ob, Taz, Pur, Bolshaya Shchuchya, Yuribei (Yamal Peninsula), and Mordy-Yakha rivers are considered in detail. In addition, general hydrographic characteristics and that of the ichthyofauna of 54 water bodies in all seven regions of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug are given. The general values of fish productivity of the mentioned objects are given.
