Determination of Organic Fisheries Awareness in Konya

This research was conducted to learn consumers' thoughts on organic fish production and consumption. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted face to face with a total of 405 people, 166 female and 239 male, over 18 years of age in Konya central districts. Random Sampling Method was used as sampling method. It was determined that 29.18% of the respondents consumed sea fish, 11.22% consumed fresh water fish and 59.60% consumed both sea and fresh water fish. While 85.68% of the consumers living in Konya are aware of the concept of organic agriculture, the rate of those who have heard of organic fish farming has been determined as 52.10%. 61.61% of those who have knowledge about organic fish farming are university and above, 21.80% high school, 8.06% secondary school and 8.53% primary school graduates. The majority of the participants think that organic fish is natural, healthy and delicious and therefore express their positive views on organic fish consumption and wish to make organic fish farming more widespread. According to the findings, it is recommended to create the necessary infrastructure for increasing the production and consumption of organic fish and to make consumers more conscious about organic fish.
