Sagiltici, Hasan | Cufadar, Yusuf
The objective was to evaluate the effect of in ovo feeding with glycerol on hatching traits and then post-hatch growth performance, carcass characteristics and organ weight of Japanese quails. In total, 500 quail hatching eggs were randomly divided into five treatment groups of 100 eggs per treatment with four replicates of 25 eggs each. On the 14th day of incubation, 0.2 ml of in ovo solution was injected into amniotic fluid. Treatments were including 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0% glycerol solution, and a control group (0.9% NaCl solution). Hatching chicks were fed with similar diets for 5 weeks in different groups and their effects on performance, carcass and some organ weights were examined.
