Javier, P.A. | Rejesus, B.M.
The insecticidal activity of the crude and semi-purified extracts from black pepper against corn weevil, red flour beetle and lesser grain borer was determined. The semi-purified extract is generally more toxic than the crude extract. In general, the order of decreasing toxicity of the extracts to the test insects is: corn weevilred flour beetle lesser grain borer. Admixture treatment of the grains showed the black pepper to be more toxic than malathion against corn weevil as residual contact and stomach poison. It also exhibited anti-growth effect
