Three species of unicellular algae-chlorella pyrenoides chick (a local strain), Scenedesmus obliquus No. 276 and Chlorella No. 149 (both foreign strains) were cultivated outdoors for one year under different seasons. The dry yields obtained after 30 days cultivation were 375 and 580 grams for the local strain grown in solution of 0.15% ammonium super phosphate in water and modified Knop's medium respectively; 927.78 grams for Scenedesmus and 182 grams for Chlorella No. 149. The differences in the yields could be attributed to seasonal variations in the environmental conditions under which the experiments were conducted
