German. The sexual activity of females and the population structure of M. spretus are analysed on the basis of 809 (485 male, 324 females) specimens collected in the delta of the Guadalhorce river (Malaga), between March 1982 and February 1984. The obtained data refer to the following subjects: (a) sexual maturity of females; (b) number of embryos; (c) population structure. Under natural conditions the females of M. spretus become sexualy active at the age of 5-9 weeks. However, the attainment of the sexual maturity depends of the female's birthtime. In the territory chosen the estimated average of the litter size is 5.7 (+-) 1.3. However, the litter size fluctuates along the year, with two pics on April and August respectively. The intensity of the reproduction fluctuates also along the year and reaches its greatest values in April-June and August. The reproduction begins at the end of February and continues until the middle of January. Finally the dynamics of population structure is concisely discussed on the basis of the different age categories
