Electrostatic charging of spray-liquids of hand and shoulder carried sprayers suitable for third world countries
1984
Hussain, D.
Five different portable sprayers were used to investigate deposition improvement by means of electrostatic droplet charging. The contact-system and the corona-charging-system were used to charge the spray droplets. The influence of different charging voltages and the influence of different numbers of electrodes were observed. In all the cases, the deposition increased significantly by using the electrostatic charging method. The drift reduced to about one fourth in comparison to the conventional method. Attention has been given to avoid changing the original condition of the equipment and to keep the expenditures at a minimum.
