Influence of irrigation and fertilization on sugar beet at Fundulea
1985
Naescu, V. | Nita, C. | Sipos, G. (Institutul de cercetari pentru cereale si plante tehnice, Fundulea (Romania))
In the period 1972-1982 some experiences determined the influence of irrigation and fertilization on roots and sugar production of sugar beet at the Institute for Cereals and Industrial Crops-Fundulea. Their influence and interaction were obtained by the analyses of the variant. For the efficient application of the irrigation water the output obtained for every 1 mm water given for irrigation was calculated. Sugar beet needs big quantities of water giving yields of over 70 t/ha with an output per 1 mm water of 52,7 kg at the variant irrigated at 50% u.a. with 50 mm. The bigger the dose of nitrogen is, the lower is the sugar content in the roots; but the bigger the roots yield is the bigger is the sugar yield per ha.
