German. The effects of thioureas against PVX had been under proof, which were substituted in N posisiton by o-, m-, p-methoxyphenyl or alpha-, beta-naphthyl groups and in N' position by methyl, ethyl, allyl or phenyl groups. N-o-, -m-, -p-methoxyphenyl-TU's, substituted in N' position by the allyl group, reduced greatly the concentration of PVX in secondarily infected leaves, but not in inoculated ones. Contrary to this, N-alpha, -beta-naphthyl-TU's, substituted in N' position by the phenyl group, reduced the concentration of PVX in inoculated, but not in secondarily infected leaves
