There are many possibilities for biological pest control, which are safe for the environment. Their practical use is often limited by economic constraints. Besides protecting the naturally present enemies of pests and introducing new antagonists, the periodic release of predators, parasites or pathogens is of great importance today. As an example, the Bacillus thuringiensis as well as Trichogamma may show how a special application technique can help to make the use of microbial preparations more economical, if the life cycle of the pest and the effects of the pathogen are known. Table of pests and their enemies or pathogens.
