Screening of tomato varieties/lines against bacterial wilt

An early crop of tomato is seriously damaged by the bacterial wilt caused by Pseudomonas solanacearum. A screening experiment was, therefore, conducted in the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) central station for three consecutive years with sixteen tomato accessions obtained from vegetable section of BARI. Tomato accessions TM0076 and TM0367 were highly resistant while TM0065 and TM0066 were resistant, TM0117 and TM0260 were moderately resistant. Accessions TM0064, TM0073, TM0365 were moderatly susceptible. TM0123, TM0111, TM0126, TM0093 and TM0109 were susceptible, while TM0366 were highly susceptible.
