Comparison of inducement methods for determining potato cultivars reaction to soft rot
1985
Hossain, M.
Two inducement methods, one by tuber immersion in water and another by wrapping tuber in moist paper towels were compared over two years for their ability to produce soft rot and their reliability to measure differences in susceptibility on a number of cultivars. Of the two methods, water immersion method was better. In both the years, least amount of soft rot developed in Ulster Sceptre followed by Home Guard, Maris Bard, Record, Desire and most in Pentland cultivars particularly in Pentland Square and Pentland Javelin.
