Whole blood and plasma cholinesterase (ChE) activities (micro M acetic acid formed in 30 min at 25 deg C at pH 8) were measured in West African Dwarf (WAD) goats, WAD sheep, cattle, dogs, pigs, horses and chicken in Nigeria. Of all these animals, the horse showed the highest ChE activity in its whole blood and plasma. The chicken possessed the least whole blood ChE activity WAD goat had plasma ChE level
