In terms of adaptation analysis the characterization of 28 rice varieties was made by using data on the data collected by the Rural Guidance Office in Kyongnam province. The growth of rice were categorized into four different cultural conditions in three sites. Regression coefficients of characters to yield were computed for all varieties in each site and in each cultural system. Mean squares of variety, environment and variety x environment were highly significant. Taebaegbyeo, Suwon No.333 and Iri No.377 were found to be better adaptable to the seaside, plain and hilly sites, and Iri No.377 and Milyang No.83 to both one and two-crop cultural systems. Samgangbyeo, Suweon No.333 and Iri No.377 were found to be better adaptable to heavy fertilizer and late-transplanting conditions, and S1005amgangbyeo, Suwon No.333, Milyang No.83, Taebaegbyeo and Milyang No.82 showed higher stability by showing higher regression coeffeci
