Chinese cabbage has been frequently exposed to drought in open field under Korean weather condition, drought time and period was experimented on Chinese cabbage both in the spring and autumn season. Irrigation requirement was most sensitive at the mid-period of field duration in autumn, but greatest in early period at spring cropping. Growth and yield was decreased by drought treatment and head formation was poor or delayed. Severe drought increased the number of non-heading outer leaves and tip burn occurrence, while decrement of soft-rot disease
