Effects of NAA and BA on the organogenesis in Nicotiana plumbaginifolia protoplasts

This experiment was conducted to know the effects of NAA and BA on the organogenesis of calli derived from protoplast culture in Nicotiana plumbaginifolia. The results indicated that higher concentration over 0.5 mg/l NAA inhibited strongly shoot differentiation while higher concentration of BA (5 mg/l) completely prevented shoot development in case of no addition of NAA and no difference was observed between 0.01 mg/l and 0.1 mg/l NAA for root differentiation. Roots were developed well on NAA free medium, however, frequency of abnormal plants was slightly increased
