To analyze the regulatory effect of nitrogen on ethylene evolution and biosynthesis sequence (methionine-ACC-ethylene) in rice plant, studies were carried out on methionine, ACC content and ethylene evolution in different nitrogen levels of rice plant. The methionine and ACC content in rice leaves increased with the increase in nitrogen level, but ethylene evaluation was decreased. Thus, a high positive correlation was found between methionine and ACC content and negative correlation was found between ACC content and ethylene evolution in rice leaves grown at different nitrogen levels. On the bases of these results, nitrogen exerts a significant effect on the conversion of ACC to ethylene in ethylene biosynthesis sequence
