Morphological characteristics of flower and immature pod of selected winged bean accessions [Philippines]

Variation was observed on the pod color, pod wing color, pod surface, texture and pod shape of the different accessions evaluated (UPLB-IPB [University of the Philippines at Los Banos-Inst. of Plant Breeding] Accession Nos 46, 179, Tpt14, 249, 130, 131, 243, 137). Specking was observed on the calyx of all the accessions studied. Differences in the width of the standard petal was not significant among the accessions used. However, accession number 46 produced the widest standard petal with a mean of 31.37 mm, while accession number 131 showed the narrowest standard petals with a mean of 30.30 mm
