In pot experiments the uptake of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na by Capsicum annuum L. cv. Remi in seed cultivation was investigated during the whole vegetation p1729eriod. The content of the mentioned macronutrients in the examined organs showed marked changes in the various stages of development. Capsicum annuum revealed the highest nutritive requirements in relation to potassium and nitrogen, lower - to calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and the lowest - to sodium. Maximum uptake of the macronutrients which was calculated for 10 plants was the following: 5.79 g N, 0.97 g P, 8.47 g K, 2.38 g Ca, 1.37 g Mg, 0.26 g Na in the ratio N:P:K:Ca:Mg:Na = 1.0:0.17:1.46:0.41:0.24:
