Occurrence of resinous wood in pine stems (Pinus sylvestris L.) treated with Grammoxone in autumn

Grammoxone solution was applied to various kinds of fresh wounds in pine stems in mid October. Observations of resin leakage on the bark of pine stems were made after 7 and 17 months from the moment of application of Grammoxone to wounds. The maximum effect of resin accumulation in pine stems was obtained after 17 months of the duration of the experiment. The mean share of resinous wood in cross-section was 46.0% at the method of "holes", 31.8% at the method of strip with blotting paper, and 27.7% at the method of strip without blotting paper.
