Influence of nitrogen fertilization on yield components of spring barley and on protein content of grain and its amino acid composition

Increased and delayed nitrogen fertilization of barley grown in pot culture increased the protein content in the grain. The biological value of the grain protein was found to decline as the grain matured. Moderately high nitrogen rates were not found to cause any appreciable deterioration of the qualitative make up of the grain
