In Poland many thrips may occur on glasshouse crops: Thrips tabaci, Heliothrips haemorrhoidalis, Hercinothrips femoralis, Scirtathrips longipennis and others. On vegetables and flowers thrips tabaci occurs widely. The method used at present to control these pests in glasshouses is the chemical one. At the Plant Protection Institute a biological method of controlling thrips is being worked out now
