shThe investigation on 4 non-pregnant and 29 pregnant sows and their foetuses from 21 to 112 day of pregnancy was carried out. It was observed that large amounts of Na and Ca accumulated in the placenta of sows and internal organs of foetuses. The essential role in the iron balance during pregnancy in sows there was played by the spleen. Mn, Cr and Pb was accumulated in the placenta. The kidneys of foetuses accumulated large amounts of Cr and Pb. Mn was stored in the liver of the pregnant sows. Since the 36th day of pregnancy the foetus had started to synthetize vitam
