Goslings belonging to three crossbreds, i.e. L1, L2 and L3, based on the imported Landaise and Rhine White breeds and on the local "Bihor White" breed, were tested for meat production, in comparison with controls (C) representing the biological material currently used. The experiment lasted 8 weeks and was performed in accordance with the current production technology. The birds were given combined feeds with 20% protein content at the age of 0-4 weeks and, 18% at 5-8 weeks. The statistical analysis of the data reveal, the superiority of the crossbreds, as compared with controls, both from the point of view of body weight at marketing and the ability of feed conversion. Thus, at 8 weeks, the mean body weight of goslings in the crossbreds was 4040.83+/-47.61 g in crossbred L3, 3981.42+/-68.97 g in crossbred L1 and 3771.25+/-77.37 g in crossbred L2 with a specific consumption of 2.75, 2.80 and 2.97 kg, feed/kg.gain, in comparison with 3718.52+/-91.45 g and 3.01 kg in controls. Among the crossbreds tested L3 stands out as the final weight was significantly higher as compared to the controls (C), a difference of 322.31 g (p0.01) and feed intake was lower by 0.26 Kg (i.e. 8.63%). The same remarks apply to crossbred L1, for goslings in this crossbred weighed 262.90 g more than those in the controls (p0.05) and the feed intake for 1 kg gain (6.97%) was 0.21 g lower
